Scripture: Matthew 5:14–16
So far in the Sermon on the Mount, we have seen Jesus' basic description of a disciple. This whole sermon is His elaboration on the theme "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven it at hand" (4:17). Those who repent are the ones touched by God who respond with the characteristics He described as "blessed."
