The Curious Case Of Paul
January 5, 2025 Speaker: Jim Harris Series: Acts
Scripture: Acts 25:1– 26:32
Rather than an outline, we'll look at this section by section, and along the way, observe lessons we can apply. It covers the rest of Paul's time in Caesarea. Two years pass. Paul is still in minimum security prison at the palace in Caesarea and a new governor comes to power. We don’t know much about Festus except that he was a member of the Roman nobility and that he died two years after he assumed his office. Josephus (Jewish historian) says that he was a better governor than his predecessor or his successor. Though his palace is in Caesarea, Festus rules over the Jews, so he immediately makes a visit to Jerusalem and steps into the hornets' nest of Jewish bitterness toward Paul.
