This Salvation Of God Has Been Sent

The Apostle Paul arrived in Rome in the custody of a Roman soldier named Julius. 28:13 tells us the group arrived at the port city of Puteoli, about 30 miles from Rome. Then:

Acts 28:14-15: There we found some brethren, and were invited to stay with them for seven days; and thus we came to Rome. And the brethren, when they heard about us, came from there as far as the Market of Appius and Three Inns to meet us; and when Paul saw them, he thanked God and took courage.

For two days, the Christians accompanied Paul to Rome. When they arrived, they parted ways because Paul had to be taken into custody. It seems likely that Julius must have interceded for Paul with the authorities when he delivered the prisoners.

Here, then, is the end of the beginning of the history of the Church of Jesus Christ.
