Today we attempt the rarely-attempted feat of examining three very well-known Bible verses in context. It's one of those passages that countless people can quote from memory, but they are almost never quoted with reference to their context, even though they begin with the word for.

Verses 8-9 are a summary of the transformation that leads to a person being in Christ. Verse 10 describes the new purpose in life that comes when you are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ (1:3).
