The Gospel Goes To Samaria

June 25, 2023 Speaker: Jim Harris Series: Acts

Scripture: Acts 8:1–5

We saw earlier that Jesus didn’t give a command to take the gospel anywhere, but He gave them a promise that they would take the gospel all over the world. Look again:

Acts 1:8: . . . you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

In chapter 8, the gospel jumps the first major barrier from one culture to another. From Jerusalem, the gospel goes to “all Judea and Samaria.” You're going to see that God often uses unpleasant things we consider “tragedies” as catalysts to spreading the gospel.

  1. Providential Persecution (1-3)
  2. Powerful Preaching (4-8)
